Surgery Appointments

The surgery is open between 8:00am and 6.30pm.  Due to one Gp retiring appointments may not be offered on the day Unless it’s an EMERGENCY. Ensure we have your correct telephone contact, please ring 01678 520 308 during the above hours.

Out of Hours Care

IN AN EMERGENCY DIAL 999;During the hours between 6:30pm and 8:00am on week days and the whole weekend between 6:30pm on Friday and 8:00 on Monday, and during Bank Holidays, the surgery will be closed. Your care during these periods is the responsibility of Gwynedd Local Health Board. If you require urgent medical care during this time you need to call 111.  A trained nurse will then take details from you and may give you advice over the telephone, or If however the Doctor on duty thinks it is clinically warranted a home visit will be arranged,alternatively you may be  advised to attend the A&E department or an ambulance may be arranged to take you to hospital.

Repeat Prescriptions

We do not accept repeat prescription over the phone,you can order in person at the Reception or order via My Health On Line if registered for this service by using the “Order repeat prescription” button on the left of this page.Contact reception if you wish to register for MHOL. Please allow 72 hours notice for repeat prescription requests. Non-dispensing patients   who live in Bala can take the right hand-side of their prescription to the Chemist directly, allowing 72 hours for collection.

Home Visits

We are happy to visit at home if you are too ill to travel to the surgery, but if you can attend the surgery please do so. Visits should be requested before 11:00am whenever possible. Please be prepared to give details of the patient’s name and address, with directions if necessary and your telephone number. Please give the reason for the request so that the doctor can determine the degree of urgency. The Doctor may also wish to ring you back to discuss your problems with you.

Telephone Consultations

Should you wish to have a telephone consultation with the doctor, please contact the surgery and inform the receptionist of your symptoms who will advise on when the doctor will be able to call you back. You may be asked to send information via e-mail prior to the consultation. If you are visiting the area and forgotten medications, we will need a GP SUMMARY sent to us from your own Surgery prior to issue, to either e-mail below [email protected]/[email protected]

In an Emergency

Urgent calls can be made by ringing the surgery phone number 01678 520 308 at any time of day or night. During surgery working hours the surgery staff will be able to contact the Duty Doctor by mobile phone.

If your call is an emergency please dial 999 and ask for an ambulance.

Information Technology

The Surgery makes a substantial use of computers and you will notice monitors in each of the consulting rooms. The computers are used to record your medical details and also to access other medical information, to aid with registration details and repeat prescriptions and to print Patient Information Leaflets. The Practice is registered under the Data Protection Act .

Patient Confidentiality

We respect your right to privacy and keep all your health information confidential and secure. This information is only available to those involved in your care. You have a right to know what information we hold about you and if you would like to see your records please contact reception.

Arrival System

There is a touch- screen computer near the front door for patients to record that they have arrived for an appointment with the Doctor or Practice Nurse. Please make use of this facility, as it informs the Doctor/Nurse that you have arrived, and will also give you an indication as to how long you have to wait.

Suggestions and Complaints

Any comments or suggestions you may have regarding the working of the practice are welcome, and will be treated in confidence. If you have a complaint or suggestion please contact the Practice Manager or one of the Doctors either by post or telephone.
